How It Works
This color converter implements mathematical transformations between different color spaces. RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is an additive color model where colors are created by combining different intensities of red, green, and blue light. Each component ranges from 0-255, representing 8 bits per channel (24-bit color depth).
HEX conversion uses hexadecimal representation of RGB values. Each RGB component (0-255) is converted to a 2-digit hexadecimal number (00-FF). The implementation uses bitwise operations and base conversion: toString(16) for RGB to HEX, and parseInt(hex, 16) for HEX to RGB conversion.
HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) conversion uses geometric transformations in the RGB color cube. The algorithm first normalizes RGB values to 0-1 range, finds the minimum and maximum values, then calculates hue using trigonometric relationships. Saturation and lightness are derived from the color's position between pure color and grayscale. The implementation uses the modern HSL algorithm that provides more intuitive color manipulation.
